Took My First Holiday in 8 Years

We bootstrapped @babelforce.

If you want to piss off your family, bootstrap a company.

I’m fortunate that my family was understanding and supportive.

But we couldn’t go on holidays as we had so few staff in the beginning.

Then we got our first VC round about 3 years ago.

That changed the picture completely – but not immediately.

It took until this year for us to have processes in place where I can switch off completely.

Hence, I had my first proper vacation in 8 years.

We went to Ireland as we hadn’t visited my parents for a year and a half because of the pandemic.

It rains a lot in Ireland! But that didn’t stop us.

We’d put our rain gear on and go out – and even climb mountains.

But, being a sun worshipper, I’d prefer to go somewhere south the next time.
